Headroom: Remote Desktop Privacy Policy

Headroom has no account and no sign-in, and no server of ours is involved. A remote session runs directly between your own device and your Mac, over your own network (the same Wi‑Fi, or a VPN such as Tailscale).

• The contents of the Mac's screen and what you do on it (clicks and keystrokes) travel only between your device and the Mac. We do not receive them.
• The username and password you use to sign in to the Mac are stored only in the Keychain on your device and are never sent to us.
• Your list of saved connections and the remaining free-tier connection time are stored only on your device.

To find Macs on the same network automatically, the app uses local network access and Bonjour (_rfb._tcp). This runs only if you allow it in the iOS permission prompt, and the results never leave your device. You can revoke the permission at any time in iOS Settings.

The only information we collect is the following two types, gathered through Firebase Analytics (Google).

• Usage Data (Product Interaction): which screens are opened, whether a connection succeeded or failed (discovered automatically or entered by hand, and the kind of failure), whether the free-tier limit was reached, and so on. The purposes are Analytics and App Functionality — understanding how the app is used, and fixing defects.
• Diagnostics (Performance Data): records about how the app performs. The purposes are Analytics and App Functionality.
• Neither is linked to your identity.
• Neither is used for tracking. The app does not request tracking permission through App Tracking Transparency.

We do not collect the following. What reaches us is only the anonymous usage information described above.

• The contents of the remote Mac's screen, or anything you type or click.
• Credentials such as the Mac's username or password.
• The host name, IP address or MAC address of your connections.
• Name, email address, phone number or home address.
• Precise location, contacts or photos.

Firebase Analytics (Google LLC) is the only third-party service the app uses. The app shows no third-party advertising, performs no behavioral tracking, and does not sell or share personal information.

The in-app purchase (Headroom Pro, a one-time purchase) is processed through Apple's StoreKit, and we never receive your payment information.

A VPN such as Tailscale is a separate product from a separate company that you may choose to install. Headroom has no VPN of its own, and we receive no data about you from such products.

• Deleting a saved connection inside the app removes it, and its password, from your device.
• Deleting the app from your device removes everything it stored there.
• There is no data about you on our servers to delete.

This app is not designed for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
