Guitarist / Pianist Privacy Policy

This policy describes how information is handled in the iOS / iPadOS apps “Guitarist” and “Pianist” (the “Apps”), provided by MusicFlow. The Apps work without any account and collect no personal information such as your name or email address.

1. Your recordings (most important)

The Apps record a short clip of music (15–30 seconds) with the microphone. The recording is analyzed on your device only and discarded immediately after analysis. Audio is never uploaded — the Apps' networking layer has no mechanism that accepts audio by design.

The arrangements generated from the analysis (TAB / keyboard notation) are also created and kept on your device only and are never uploaded.

2. What the Apps send (anonymous)

To improve arrangement quality, the following may be sent anonymously to our server (api.musicflow.tokyo, HTTPS). None of it contains audio or anything that identifies you.

  • Statistical analysis results (tempo, key, chord symbols, beat timings, section kinds, melody summary statistics)
  • “I can't fret this” fingering reports (the combination of fretting positions)
  • Likes on arrangements (per key / difficulty settings)
  • Reproduction parameters when you use sharing (song metadata, difficulty, seed value)

3. Identifiers

Submissions carry only a randomly generated anonymous install identifier. Since there are no accounts, the identifier is never linked to your name or email. Deleting and reinstalling the app generates a new identifier.

4. Tracking and advertising

The Apps do not track you. They contain no advertising or third-party analytics SDKs, and no identifiers that work across other companies' apps or websites (nothing subject to App Tracking Transparency).

5. What the Apps receive

On launch, the Apps may download a style model (a set of numeric parameters) that improves arrangement quality. If the download fails, everything still works with the built-in model.

6. Purposes

  • Improving the arrangement engine (learning from anonymous statistics)
  • Understanding and fixing defects

7. Third parties

We do not share collected information with third parties except as required by law.

8. Retention and deletion

Anonymous statistics are kept for as long as needed for the purposes above. If you would like data tied to your anonymous identifier deleted, contact us with the identifier and we will respond within reason.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The updated version takes effect when posted on this page.
